| Prerequisite: | Crane System Theory |
| Content: | This basic program assumes no prior service and operational knowledge of Potain Systems. The program begins with company and model history. Presented next are the basics of Potain Nomenclature, site set-up, and safety concerns. Detailed explanations of the electrical systems are then provided.
Our Potain tour begins by reviewing the following topics:
- Technology of different types of cranes, equilibrium – wind influence and safety devices
- Operating and environmental rules
- Crane technology - upper and lower rotation tower cranes: General terminology, terms and mounting principle.
- Review choices of handling and transportation modes as well as crane power supply methods.
- Remote control mechanisms: including operating aids and different sensors and interfering action zones.
- General crane operation will be reviewed as well as basic tower crane maintenance.

| Objectives: | Upon course completion the student will:

Have a basic understanding of tower crane principles.

Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of tower crane designs.

Begin to navigate Potain electrical diagrams

Interpret basic load diagrams and reeving systems.

Have a basic understanding of pressures acting on the outrigger pads and the importance of proper machines setup.
