Prerequisite:
| Successful completion of Crane Technology and Operation,
Grove Crane Level I, and Grove Crane Level II courses.
A laptop computer is required for each student.

| Description: | This course will provide the students with an in depth look into the PAT DS350G, DS350GW, DS350GWV,DS350 Graphic Boom Control System, DS150, and DS150C Load Moment Indicating Systems (LMI). Building on previous course knowledge, the students begin with a session on how load charts and LMI systems are interrelated. The course then moves to an over view of the different LMI systems’ consoles and the programming steps required for proper operation.
The course takes the students into the inner workings of the LMI systems through explanations of the overall system schematics. In-depth sessions covering the individual circuits, digital inputs, measuring channels, and basic adjustments will give the student the foundation necessary for the troubleshooting phase. The course will cover how to properly troubleshoot system problems through the use of errors codes, flow charts and procedures. Students will learn how to remove and reinstall main boards, pressure transducers, and how to properly readjust the voltage settings. To re-enforce the course material, a hands-on session will be conducted where students put into practice what they learned in the classroom. System induced problems will provide students the opportunity to utilize the troubleshooting manuals and procedures learned to diagnosis and repair the problems. |
