Prerequisite:
| Successful completion of Crane Technology and Operation,
Grove Crane Level I, Grove Crane Level II, and Grove PAT Level I courses.
Each student is required to bring a laptop computer.

| Description: | This course will provide the students with an in-depth look into the PAT DS350 Graphics Modular, DS350 Graphics Boom Control, and IFLEX5, IFLEX2 CANBUS Control Load Moment Indicating Systems (LMI). Building on previous course knowledge and experience, students begin with a session on how load charts and LMI systems are inter-related. The course then moves to an overview of the various LMI systems’ consoles and the programming steps required for proper operation.
The course takes students into the inner workings of the LMI systems through explanations of the overall system schematics. In-depth sessions covering the individual circuits, digital inputs, measuring channels, and basic adjustments will give the student the necessary foundation for the troubleshooting phase. The course will cover how to properly troubleshoot system problems through the use of errors codes, flow charts and procedures. Students will learn how to remove and reinstall main boards and pressure transducers and how to properly re-adjust the voltage settings. To reinforce the course material, a hands-on session will be conducted where students will put into practice what they learned in the classroom. System induced problems will provide students with the opportunity to utilize troubleshooting manuals and procedures learned to diagnosis and repair problems. |
