Course: GMK Level II

Below lists the prerequisite for this course and the course description.

Prerequisite:

Students must have successfully completed the GMK Level I course.
Note: Laptop computer and computer navigation skills are mandatory.
Description:This intermediate program assumes basic service and operational knowledge of GMK systems.

The program continues with machines that use electrical over hydraulic controls and make a decreasing use of relay logic architecture by using amplifier boards. A service technician will be introduced to the faster-paced study of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems, and reading of their related schematic prints including “E-lan” and “SEE” electrical prints. The student will then learn EKS3 error code interpretation, operator and service troubleshooting.

The students will be introduced to machines equipped with the “Skymaster” boom. Applications will include theory of operation along with studies of the system schematics, diagnosis and troubleshooting.

Mode of instruction is class room theory and simulator with specifically designed tasks that give the technicians the opportunity to demonstrate amplifier board adjustments and tuning techniques.
Benefits:Upon course completion the student will be able to:
  • Interpret superstructure/carrier controls and system indicators for electric-over-hydraulic controlled GMK cranes.
  • Interpret superstructure/carrier controls and system indicators for “Skymaster” generation GMK cranes
  • Diagnose system problems for electric-over-hydraulic controlled and “Skymaster” generation GMK cranes.
  • Navigate and interpret DIN “E-lan” and “SEE”schematic prints (at an Intermediate Level)
  • Interpret and diagnose of EKS83/EKS3 system errors and faults
